Butterfly Table
Selected by Graphis for its book on international product design.

The challenge facing Osburn Design in designing the innovative maple Butterfly table was to design a unique and organically shaped table that could easily double in size.

The Osburn Design solution involved a hinged, asymmetrical design that allows the table to expand and contract from one unique shape to another. This metamorphosis is easy for one person to perform and there is no annoying extra table leaf to be stored.

The result is an Asian-inspired Butterfly Table with lyrical curves and shapes disguising its nautically-exact engineering. This "swiss army knife" of a table truly marries form and function: astonishingly beautiful and usable in nearly every room for any purpose.
